Hi friend,

Welcome back to Tales of Grace and this is Abide Mondays! I’m so thankful we get to start another week together.

This week, our anchor scripture is a beautiful reminder of God’s care for us.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need.” ~ Psalm 23:1

As I reflected on this verse, I did a little research (okay, I’ll admit, I Googled it😂), and I discovered something interesting. Did you know that sheep are some of the most vulnerable animals? They don’t have natural defenses. In fact, they get easily frightened, and without their shepherd, they can get lost in the blink of an eye. Not only do they struggle to find their way back home, but they also tend to graze in dangerous places or eat harmful plants without realizing the risk. Moreover, they’re completely defenseless against predators. And if that wasn’t enough, without someone to lead them to safe places for rest, food, and water, they would be utterly helpless.

In many ways, we are just like sheep. Without Jesus, we too are lost. We might try to navigate life on our own; however, apart from Him, life feels purposeless and overwhelming. No matter how strong or independent we think we are, we still need Him—for guidance, for protection, and for everything in between. Just as sheep rely entirely on their shepherd for survival, we too must rely fully on Jesus for every part of our lives.

As we begin this new week, let’s hold fast to this unchanging truth: we need Jesus. He is our Good Shepherd, and because we have Him, we lack nothing.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, thank You for being our Good Shepherd. Because You are with us, we have everything we need. You provide for us each day, and we trust You to lead us through this week. Holy Spirit, help us carry this truth in our hearts and remember it in every moment. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
