Hi friend!

Welcome back to Tales of Grace! And welcome to another Abide Mondays—where we anchor our hearts in God’s Word at the start of the week.

This past weekend, I found myself returning again and again to a familiar passage in Luke 7:36-50. You may know it—it’s the story of a woman whose life had been marked by brokenness, yet she boldly approaches Jesus. She’s described simply as “a woman of the city, a sinner.” But her response to Jesus is anything but simple. Mary weeps at His feet, washing them with her tears. She wipes them dry with her hair. And she goes on to kisses His feet and pours out expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet.

It’s such a tender, almost scandalous moment. And there’s one verse that’s been echoing in my heart:

“Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.” ~ Luke 7:47

That last line has been sitting heavy on my heart—“The one who has been forgiven much, loves much.”

I can’t help but think about where God has rescued me from—the mess, the shame, the moments no one else saw. He met me there, in the middle of it, and covered me with grace. But lately, I’ve found myself asking: Does my love for Him reflect just how much I’ve been forgiven?

Mary’s love wasn’t cautious. It wasn’t polished or rehearsed. It was bold, raw, and extravagant. She didn’t care who was watching. She didn’t hold back. And I wonder—how often do I hold back my worship, my devotion, trying to keep it “appropriate,” or letting distractions dull my affection for Him?

This week, I want my heart to look like Mary’s. I want to love Jesus openly, fully, unashamedly, because I know the depth of the grace He’s poured over me.

Let’s pray together:

Heavenly Father, You are worthy of my deepest praise. Forgive me for the times I’ve let familiarity creep in, where other things have quietly taken my devotion.
Holy Spirit, stir my heart again. Give me a hunger for You that overshadows everything else. Let my worship, my life, my love reflect the mercy You’ve shown me.
Be glorified in me, now and always. Amen.

I pray that as you step into this week, you’ll be bold in your love for Him. May we each be like Mary—pouring it all out at His feet.

Oh—and before you go! I have something special to share. I’ll be giving away a copy of my Loved Beyond Measure journal to one of you soon. Keep an eye on my socials so you don’t miss out on how to enter!
